CLEMENT KIDS CHOIR
Ages 6-10
Thursdays, 5:30-6:30 PM
Instructor: Chase Worthey

Clement Kids Choir is a choral arts music education and performance program for children ages 6-10.  Participants in the program experience learning through sequential development of musical skills with emphasis on music literacy, and the development of a solid and healthy vocal technique. As a result, students move through the curriculum with a consistent sense of accomplishing ever more challenging music  while at the same time taking pride in the ever growing beauty of their own singing voice. The activities provided in the courses of each season help singers grow and promote self-esteem, accomplishment and pride.

BEGINNER GROUP GUITAR
Ages 10-14
Wednesdays, 5:30 – 6:30 PM
Instructor: Zachary McDonald

Students of this class will need to have a guitar to use and will also need to purchase a guitar instruction book, which are not included in the class fee.

Beginner Group Guitar is designed to provide a musical introduction to playing the acoustic guitar. Participants will learn the basics of music notation, chords, picking and strumming technique.  It is best suited for beginners or new players, but also open to students who already can play and are interested in possibly learning something new or perfecting their fundamentals.  The class will cover multiple musical styles, including classical, folk, rock, jazz, and more, as well as basic music theory and history.  Students should have a guitar to use (preferably acoustic, but electric is welcome).  Students can expect a performance to be organized at the end of the semester, open to friends and family.

MUSICAL COMPOSITION
Ages 14-18
Tuesdays, 5:30 – 6:30 PM
Instructor: Zachary McDonald

Learn to write your own music!  This Music Composition class will feature guidance on the art of composing in a broad range of styles, as well as lessons on music theory, instrumentation, and music history.  Students will receive feedback from the instructor on how to improve their compositions, as well as learn how to properly critique each other’s work.  This class is best suited for students who already know how to read music and can play an instrument, but students need not have any prior experience with composing music.  Students will need a laptop computer with music notation software (the instructor will go over good, free programs to use on the first day of class).  Students can expect to have guest musicians play their pieces later in the semester.
